Karachi: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) finally managed to gather a huge crowd in Mianwali on Saturday despite retirement of chief of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Ahmed Shuja Pasha, who was blamed for backing the PTI gatherings in different cities of the country.
Cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan proved all allegations of its political rivals baseless after a successful gathering in his hometown with Pasha heading the country’s powerful spy agency.
The Pakistani media went on partial black-out and preferred to air the press conference of Imran Khan’s staunch rival and PML-N stalwart Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
Pakistan media has long been accused of showing biasness in covering the political parties’ events and a section of the media was practically targeted by armed activist of a political party this week. Copies of a newspaper were also set on fire by the party.

Khan’s supporters expressed resentment and posted comments on social networking websites with one saying ”As usual media is sold out … they were doing media coverage for JASQM in Karachi where Bashir Qureshi is talking about Sindu Desh but they didn’t cover PTI’s Jalsa where Imran Khan was talking about unity of Pakistani Nation …. Please wake up Pakistan.
“Media biasing at its best. no coverage for such a huge event in mianwali,” another support of Khan said on twitter.
Pakistan’s leading TV channels focused their cameras on a press conference of opposition parties speaking against recommendations, prepared by a bipartisan committee attended by themselves, , with regard to new terms of engagements with the United States.
